BIO: Lil Matjo is a very loving and devoted dachshund.  She was a breeder dog in her past life and deserves to spend the rest of her little life in a happy home with a loving family.  She is a precious girl that is completely house trained.  Lil Matjo is a quiet girl and does not bark very much at all.  She loves to go on walks and does great with a leash.  She snuggles right up in her bed when you leave the house and is quite content until you return.  She would make a great companion for anyone who is looking for a laid back girl that is happy just to have a warm snugly bed and lots of belly rubs.  She is the sweetest girl and does great with other dogs in the house and just sniffs the cat.  She has done great with my grandchildren as well but would probably do best in a home with kids eight or older. Lil Matjo would do great in a home with an older couple looking for a companion as well but would probably like to have at least one other dog to pal around with wherever she goes.  

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
