BIO:

Update from Dandy's foster mom: "Dandy is a small, cuddly little boy.  He has a friendly personallity, good with children and with other dogs.  He has made himself at home and fits in great."

DANDY came from the same hoarder/breeder that Romeo, Cutie and Jelly Bean came from. Hoarder was court ordered to give them up. They lived in a trailer in horrible conditions and many of them had skin issues. DANDY will have his teeth cleaned and then he’s ready for his forever home. DANDY is a very loving little boy and like the rest of them starved for attention. He thrives on a kind word or just a mere pat on the head, many things that your pets enjoys each day he was deprived of but not any longer.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about DANDY...MA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
