BIO:

CUTIE came from Princeton, KY in a hoarder case where the owner was court-ordered to surrender her. She has been completely vetted but sadly she has had some teeth pulled due to the poor care she received while in the care of the breeder/hoarder. We are doing all we can to save as many as we can but if she only has a few left softened food will work just fine and no reason for alarm. She is so so very sweet and laid back. She just wants to be loved and cared for and thankfully now no more babies. She learned the dog door in no time and loves loves to go out in the fenced in yard to just wander around. She really enjoys being with her people and would be fine with or without another dog. Very low key and not a barker. Just laid back like all long hairs are. Please give her the home she deserves. She is not leash trained so a fenced in yard would be best or a couple of x-pens out in the yard for her to do her business, she doesn’t require a lot of space. We aren’t sure about cats but they would probably be ok. Kids 12 and older would be fine. Pleaes help her find a home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about CUTIE...NH

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
