BIO:

Sahm-Sahm is a complete love-bug.  He loves to lay with you and sleeps in the big bed.  He always wants to be with his person, following you around the house.  He also LOVES to play with other dogs but seems to know what dogs need respect.  He is living currently with a 13 yr old dog and will come up to her and just roll over and be sniffed and have attention paid that way.  With the younger dogs he will puppy bow and jump, run and play. 

He does not like the crate and will bark when crated or penned. He is still a puppy so he will still chew.  If given appropriate items, he will opt to chew them. He hasn’t barked a whole lot (except with crating).

Sahm-Sahm would love to have one other 4 legged brother or sister his size to play with.  He loves to play tug of war with the other dogs, wrestle and nap with the others.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
