We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

BIO:

Little Casey was a surrender by a woman whose husband admittedly kicked him. They were fearful of Casey because he nipped at their grandchild when the toddler grabbed and squeezed Casey too hard. Much to my surprise, Casey is the most loving, sweet, adorable little boy who displays none of the usual stubborn characteristics that usually accompany a dachshund. I expected that he would need some rehabilitation after his previous experience but he is the most forgiving boy and just can’t wait to make you smile! Casey couldn’t be a more gentle and loving dog who will attach himself immediately to the first person to show him love. He was not well cared for and required flea treatment as well as treatment for dry flaky skin. He is completely flea free and his skin is improving day by day. Casey is still very young and eager to please and very trainable because he lacks that stubborn streak. With the right amount of love and attention he will truly become man or woman’s best friend. He does extremely well in a household with other dogs and is a social butterfly with both dogs and people.

Casey may even do well in a home with kids but they need to be older, patient, and understanding. Casey loves to snuggle under to covers in the big bed so expect to share half your bed with him. He also likes to sleep with his body wrapped around your head if you let him. A dog bed on the floor just won’t cut it so if you’re not the kind of person who shares your bed with pets, Casey will not be the right fit for you. Casey has nothing but love, affection, and many, many kisses to share with whoever gets lucky enough to adopt him. Won’t you please consider giving Casey your undying love and affection that he certainly deserves?

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Casey...MA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
