Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. > BIO: Gretchen is beautiful and a lady. She is very interested in being a 'good girl". She came from a Kill Shelter in Arkansas. She had worms, fleas etc, but thankfully heartworm negative. And feeling so much better now and looking very good! I believe she has been a mother in the past, and is a bit food agressive. But she does love to play with the other dogs. She sleeps cozied up with her foster sister at night and for naps too. She walks on a leash very well, and loves everyone she meets! She enjoys car rides and snuggling very much! If you are looking for a friendly beauty, than look no further!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
