CORKY IS DONE WITH HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME!!

Corky, came from MS. where so many of our heartworm positive dogs come from. If people could just get it thru their heads that these pills only cost about 6-8.00 per months we'd have a lot less heartworm positive dogs that have to go thru this treatment! With that being said, Corky is a friendly boy that just wants to love everyone. He has recently been neutered and is settling down some. He gets along with all females and males now that his neuter has taken effect. He is working on his housebreaking skills and doing very well. He loves the doggie door and the fenced in yard so the adopter needs to at least have a fenced in yard for him to run and play in. We are not sure about cats and children over 8 we think will be ok. He loves attention. He loves to sleep in the big bed at the foot of the bed and will sleep all night long. He does great in a kennel when we leave for the day but would also be fine left out as he is not distructive. He does fine on a leash. Corkey will be ready to go to his forever home the middle of July please apply to adopt him today, he is so sweet!

He is going thru treatment for the heartworms so will not be ready to go until sometime around the middle of August. If you are interested in him please fill out an app and we can get you pre-approved then when he's ready you will be too. This boy is very nice and sweet and deserves to have a home soon.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
