BIO:

Daisy 5 was taken into a vet’s office and told the vet, “if you don’t put her down, we will”!! Lucky for Daisy 5 the vet talked them out of doing that and turning her over to them and they then called us to pick her up. We can’t imagine why they would want to put her down. She gets along with all the dogs here, is house broken and sleeps at the bottom of the bed under the covers. This dog has NO issues what so ever. Very sweet, no trouble, never even know she’s around except at bedtime when she makes sure she’s one of the first on the bed. Please please give Daisy 5 her last home so she won’t be up-rooted again. She has just recently had a dental and did lose a few teeth but after a healing period she’s back on hard food. She likes to eat and is not a fussy eater either.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
