FREIDA is a little shy at first but as soon as she bonds with you she loves loves loves to be right with you and becomes a little jearlous when you show other dogs attention. She appears fine with other dogs and cats. Kids over 10 would be fine, anyone that wants to get FREIDA the attention she craves. She is housebroken to a doggie door and would do best with one but you'll have to work with her if you don't. She is UTD on all shots, spayed and heartworm negative. She has a yeast infection on her skin that we are working on clearing up now. She is looking for a home with another dog, fenced in yard and hopefully a doggie door. If you fit that list for her than she wants you has her mommy or daddy or both. FREIDA is called an Isabella(color). She needs to put on a little more weight but not much more. Please give her a great home. She came in from LA for the breeder/owner that had to give her up due to health issues. WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.
More about FREIDA...TN
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
