BIO: Annabelle is a very sweet girl who loves spending time with her person.  She loves to be near and follows you all through the house or cuddles nearby on the couch. Annabelle is normally not prone to barking but will let you know when someone is at the door. She seems to be frightened at times when outside, and children are playing loud and roudy. I think she just hasn’t been exposed to a lot of different environments and situations but will do okay with time and patience. Annabelle does very well with other dogs and doesn’t show aggression. She’s a little timid at first, but quickly warms up to the people she has met. Night time, she loves the big bed, and once is nestled under the pillows, settles in for a quite night’s rest. We are working on the potty training and should have that accomplished soon.

Annabelle is a beautiful little sweetheart that will be a precious addition to any family.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
