BIO: Emma is a tiny 5 month old Black & Tan Dachshund who has had a rough start with humans! She was thrown from a moving car and suffered a broken shoulder and sprained wrist. But she is such a little trooper that it has not slowed her down, nor has it stopped her from being very affectionate towards humans. Her shoulder is healing nicely but she will always have a crooked walk as her left foot turns out and slows her down just a little. She still jumps and runs and acts like all other Doxies just at a slower pace. She is very affectionate and loves to sleep in the big bed with all the other boys & girls (Doxies) and loves her puppy food. She is crate trained and uses a doggie door.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
