BIO:

CoCo was rescued from  the Maricopa County Shelter January 13th. She was picked up as a stray so not much is known about her past, but just by looking at this beautiful girl you can tell that she is severely underweight and has had a recent litter.

CoCo has amazing soulful eyes and as she relaxes we are learning more about her personality. She loves exploring new places, being around the other dogs in the house, snuggling and of course sleeping in the big bed.  She can jump a baby gate and does not like being separated from the action of the house. At this time, CoCo is frightened of men and will hide under the bed rather than be alone with her foster dad. This is something her foster family is working on correcting. CoCo will need a family that is patient and kind, but they will be rewarded with an amazingly loving little girl.

UPDATE: CoCo has so much love to give! However she prefers to shower her affection on a single member of the family. We reccomend that CoCo be adopted by a single person as she can become very nervous when the one she loves is not around.  She is crate trained, good with dogs and cats, however we do not know how she is with children.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application

More about CoCo...CA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
