BIO: Hi !  They call me Dottie the Darling Dapple Dachshund but I really prefer just Dottie. I am a spunky, playful and adorable dapple Doxie that wants a family all to myself. However I really would like another Doxie to play with. I like toys a lot but I warn you I WILL tearing the stuffing out them if you let me, isn’t that what I am supposed to do anyway! I am an accomplished doggie door user and love to play outside if the weather permits .I will go in a crate if you really need me too, but  I would much prefer to  sit on your lap and cuddle. I get along real well with my foster brothers & sister and I like to sleep in the big bed with them & my foster Mom. I am missing a few teeth but can still eat with the gang and I share pretty well so as of yet I still have my girlish figure. So if you are looking for the most adorable little Doxie on the planet then you have just found her! Don’t forget my name is DOTTIE !!!

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
