Vienna came to the shelter after her 94 year old owner couldn't take care of her anymore. She is used to being held a lot. She is nervous with sudden movements and smaller children. She is now starting to play with another foster puppy, but is a little timid and doesn't know how to act. She is unsure of cats. She is young and is learning the new environment. She is very sweet and learning to go potty on pads. She likes to sleep in bed with you at night.

Do you have a home for her??  

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.  
 
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
