BIO:    If you’re looking for a young, fun, loving, healthy, and happy Doxie, Lana is your girl! Pictures do not do her justice - she is a gorgeous black long-haired dachshund with light tan markings.  Lana is an owner surrender from a family in Arkansas who just didn’t have the time to devote to her.  Lana will be 2 years old in November.  She is house trained and will use a pee pad as needed. Lana loves to cuddle with her foster mom and plays well with her foster siblings. Lana will bark when a new person comes around.  She sleeps well alone but would do well in the big bed.

Must haves for this beautiful girl:

• Fenced back yard
• Young small dog for a playmate
• No apartments or condos
• An owner who is home more than not.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
