FOSTER HOME:  Gaynell  gaynellusanc@yahoo.com

Hi, my name is Vinson. I had a really nice home.  I was loved and taken care of.  Then the ‘kids’ returned to live at home and brought grandkids with them.  It was all very stressful for everyone, me included.  I wasn’t very used to kids and now they were around all the time.  They hadn’t had dogs, weren’t used to dogs and didn’t understand me.  I got scared and I nipped, so I had to go.  My foster mom was warned I might be a nipper, but she hasn’t experienced it.  She says I’m a tail wagging, good boy.  I help her pick me up (by putting my front paws up on something, even if it’s her), am quiet in my crate and like to snuggle under blankets.  I can entertain myself, just give me a bone to chew on and I am content for hours, when I get tired, I go in my crate and lay down.  I am a ‘true’ doxie.  I have those gorgeous black/tan markings, very shiny fur and am a loooong dog.  I am very low maintenance….I just want to be near my person, be warm and know I am safe.  That would make me a very happy boy indeed.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Vinson....NC

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
