BIO:  I am a Halloween baby, and just turned one year old!!  I am very very active.  Let me rephrase:  VERY active!  I would do well in a home with kids that would play with me.  I play fetch with my foster mom for hours.  I just keeping bringing the toy back to her and absolutely love chasing it!  I sleep in the human bed, usually in her lap.  I sleep all night, but sometimes sneak out of bed and have an accident, so it is important that I potty right before bed.  I get along with my foster siblings, although I am so active, I think they get tired just watching me.  I love everyone.  Matter of fact, the first thing I did to my foster mom when we got in the car was lick the skin off her face!  I can give some serious dachshund kisses, especially when I don’t think you are paying enough attention to me.  Of course, in my opinion, you can never pay enough attention to me!  I sometimes go in a crate when she is gone, but I manage just fine with my foster brother and sister roaming the house.  Can I please find a forever home at your house?

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about TYSON...TN

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
