Penny is a sweet 2 year old mini black/tan dachshund as of June 29th.Her owner passed away and now she is looking for a forever home.Penny is very playful and loves toys. She gets along with other dogs very well. She has not been around children so we would not recommend her to go to a home with children under 10 years old.Penny is trained on a pee pad when left home but would love to have a big back yard to play in when you are home.Penny will go into her crate at night to sleep in but does have the run of the house during the day. Please consider giving Penny a furever home!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Penny
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
