BIO: Fritz or Fritzi as I lovingly call him now, was “owner surrendered” from Shertz, TX. His only owner gave him up after his new wife made him decide between the dog and her!! Without knowing a thing about his wife, I can say that owner chose incorrectly!!

Fritz is sweet, smart and quite a pleaser. He gets along well with our other three doxies, but he acts like an “only child” when you attempt to take his toy away from him…so because of this, a home with children would not be ideal. Although his one owner was male, he spreads his love equally to both male and female humans; he isn’t partial to either one. He is an equal opportunity lover! He can’t seem to get close enough to you when you sit to watch T.V. and actually tries to become “one” with you as he presses up against your side. If you are looking for a wonderful lap dog and a great companion to add to your home, Fritz is who you need. He has no special needs, except for love, as we all do. Despite his “love handles” he is quite passionate about his walks; that boy can out walk his foster parents! He likes to get your attention by sitting up on his back legs like a human and turn his head in such an adorable way that you find yourself giving him anything he wants!!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Fritz....TX

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
