BIO:  Hoss came from a family in Tennessee when they could no longer care for him. He came with long nails and nasty teeth but now he’s in great shape and ready for his new and forever home. Sadly, he did lose his two upper canines due to poor dental care, but the rest are now shiny and white. We have been feeding him softened food due to his dental but once his gums heal, he should be ready to go back to hard kibble, just no bones or bully sticks!

Never fear... he still has plenty of spunk left in him and will do zoomies at times! Hoss is happy sleeping in a doggie bed at night, but he would love to be invited to the Big Bed too!  If you are needing something to keep your hands busy, well Hoss has the answer to your dilemma!  He loves to be petted.  Hoss will also make a great co-pilot for all your car trips.  His foster mom thinks this little guy is just the perfect little pup!

Our must haves for sweet Hoss include:

• A fenced yard since he loves time outside
• He can be an only dog or go to a home with another middle-aged to senior dog, small only please
• No apartments, condos, or high-rises
• Someone who is home quite a bit as he does love his people 

We know there is someone out there who loves the frosted faces, please step up and give this boy the best home for the rest of his life. He’ll be forever grateful!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
