BIO: If you love kisses, I’m the one for you! If you want to hold someone in your arms and have them look lovingly into your eyes, I’m the one for you. I love to sleep in the big bed and if you let me sleep with you, I’m so happy, I won’t move until I have to! That means I sleep through the night. While I’d rather be in the big bed, I’m also happy in the doggy bed next to your bed. I want to be close to you, but I don’t have to be right on top of you (I’d rather be, but I don’t have to be). However, if I see a lizard or a frog, I may forget about you for a bit………I’m becoming quite the ‘master hunter’.
HI, I’ve been named Abbott by the fabulous people that donated to help AADR with the vet bills for us doxies rescued from the ‘puppy mill raid’ in Aug, 2009.
Boy, am I glad to be out of there! I may have lived my whole life in a cage. When I got to my foster mom’s I was scared! I’m learning to trust people, but I will take patience at the beginning. It hasn’t taken me long to warm up, I’m learning about toys….cuddles, getting enough food and water…..boy, this is the life! I even get to go outside and run through the grass.
I’m living with dogs I’ve never known before, but they are all rescues too and are teaching me to trust and how to be a dog. My foster mom thinks I am doing great. I’m with other doxies, big dogs, boy dogs, girl dogs…ok we’re all ‘fixed’ but we’re still boys and girls.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
