BIO:  Pip came from South Carolina when his family could not care for him and they had him outside in a pen. A Good Samaritan said they would find him a home. We were contacted by them to help.

Pip is a great dog and has a lot of energy. If you are an avid walker or a jogger then Pip might be what you’re looking for to keep you company on the trails.

He does however seem to get along better with female dogs rather than male but there are several in the home and he’s fine, it might just be unaltered or strange male dogs. He is friendly with people.

Our must haves for cute Pip include:

  • A fenced yard
  • Another small dog to keep him company
  • No apartments, high-rises, or condos
  • Someone who is home most of the time because he does enjoy the company of humans

If you meet the requirements above and are looking to add to your pack, please email foster mom and she will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshunds back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

There will be an additional $55 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state where they are being fostered in.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or MidWest. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
