CALLING ALL RETIRED MEN!!! Are you looking for someone to share you life with? Take long walks with? Watch that great game on TV? Well Charlie6 is too. Please adopt him and help him get his weight down where it supposed to be. 13-15lbs. He'll have more energy for those long car rides or long walks. He is great with the foster mom and dad but prefers dad. He walks great on a leash and is housebroken. We have to say "no to small children". He bite a 2 yr old but we don't now what the 2 yr old did cause he's not shown any aggression here either towards us or the other dogs. We think that he would do better with someone that's home a lot or can take him with them when traveling. Charlie 6 is very laid back and just goes with the flow. He's completely UTD on all shots, came neutered and has a fresh dental. He's ready to be your buddy are you ready to be his!!!
Thank you for looking at our rescue dogs, please know that if you don't see one you like on the website to check back weekly becuase we get dachshunds in almost daily and they ALL need homes. Please look at some of ours that are older(they still need homes) or ones that have been on our website for sometime. They need a home too. Keep in mind we do not ship cargo so please do not ask us too. We have volunteer transports, paid transports or you can drive or fly to get your NEW BEST FRIEND.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
