BIO:  Are you looking for a sweet, sweet pup to love and spoil? Here she is! Meet Scout, a precious little girl who’s looking for her forever home. Scout was turned into a shelter in Arkansas though we have no idea why since this sweetheart is WONDERFUL!!! An all-breed rescue in Arkansas pulled Scout from the shelter and then contacted AADR knowing we would get Scout fully vetted including a much needed dental. Scout’s dental is scheduled for May 27th. Scout is already missing a lot of teeth and the ones remaining are in very poor shape. Sadly, we expect her to lose the rest of her teeth, but don’t let that stop you from applying for Scout. Once she recovers from her dental surgery she will need soft food for her lifetime, which is no big deal since you can either soak the kibble to soften it or feed her canned food. She isn’t picky and you won’t have to worry about any dentals in the future either!

Our must have for sweet Scout include:

  • An adopter in Florida because she LOVES basking in the sun
  • A fenced yard or lanai for sunbathing
  • An owner who wants a companion
  • Scout can be an only dog or can go to a home with other dogs since gets along with male and female dogs in her foster home

You're going to adore this tiny little love-bug! You can contact Scout’s foster mom at meg1709@comcast.net with any questions. You won’t be sorry adopting this little girl... Scout is a WINNER!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5 or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshunds back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and MidWest. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
