BIO: Craig came to rescue from western Kentucky when his owners could no longer care for him.
Our must haves for this adorable boy include:
- A fenced yard
- A home without cats or big dogs
- No children under the age of 9 years
- No apartments or high rises (this is firm)
Craig is a friendly little fellow and is in good health! He lost several teeth when he had his dental cleaning but is healing well and will be able to eat dry food soon. He had some missing hair and dry skin on his back but with good quality food, his hair is growing back. Craig loves to eat and has been doing well on his diet and exercise program. He needs to lose another pound or two, so his adopter will need to continue daily walks and appropriate meal portions.
Craig walks well on a leash and enjoys strolls around town and rides in the car. He would enjoy a fenced yard to explore. Craig would be happy as an only dog or with other small dogs. He gets along well with the senior dachshund in his foster home. He gets excited when he sees cats and squirrels so he would be best in a home without cats or other small animals. He is fine with children and would be happiest with older children who understand that they must be gentle with him.
Because he is such a good dog, Craig has not spent much time in a crate, but he doesn't seem to mind it. When nobody is home, he stays loose in the house. He is well housebroken and will use a pee pad if nobody is home to take him out. As long as Craig goes out first thing in the morning, when foster mom gets home, and before bed, he does well. If he wants to go out or something else, he will whine and let you know. He will usually accompany you to the kitchen to make sure he isn't missing out on anything. At night he sleeps in a dog bed. He goes under a blanket and sleeps quietly all night.
Craig is a sweet boy who would love to be your new best friend!
