Banjo is the life of the party!!!He is listed as special needs, but he certainly doesn’t know it.He loves to play with his foster brother and sister, enjoys sitting in the yard for hours and barking at the squirrels (which is the only thing he ever barks at!), and hiding bones all around the house. He can handle stairs just fine, he can chase after toys and his foster siblings, but cannot jump onto anything. He lets his foster mom know when he has to go outside and sleeps in the big bed.He is still somewhat a puppy in that he does want to get up every so often in the night because he has to go outside. He loves everyone that comes to the foster house, and seems particularly fascinated with men- follows foster dad all over the house. He will even go outside in the rain to go potty, which is more than can be said for his foster siblings. He is a sweetheart and will cuddle up and kiss the back of your neck in the morning when you wake up.If you adopt him, you will be one lucky person!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about BANJO...KY
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
