BIO: Who likes to play fetch??? This girl!!! She LOVES her squeaky Kong tennis ball and will carry it everywhere with her and do her best to get you to throw it for her all the time.
Maggie came from Indiana when her owner could no longer care for her. She is so sweet and loving. She will snuggle on your lap when you are watching TV on the couch. She'll lay in a doggie bed nicely at your feet, if you are busy. She likes to be near her people.
Maggie does great sleeping in her kennel at night. We put her to bed and cover her up, say "night night," and she doesn't make a peep until we wake up. She would enjoy sleeping in the big bed with her forever family, too!
She's well potty trained and goes outside perfectly.
Maggie was good with a cat at one time but we can't say if she still would be unless it's a dog savvy cat.
Maggie's still very curious at her new foster home, but she needs to continue to be trained not to jump on furniture. She's using the ramp to our couch most of the time. We want to keep her back healthy!
She loves going for walks and is a good walker on her harness leash. This will also help keep her healthy and her back strong.
Maggie gets along great with her 14-year-old foster brother! She would be fine in a home as an only dog, but it would be nice to have someone home with her to keep her entertained.
She's a cancer survivor! Just before Maggie arrived into rescue, it was discovered she had a mass on her ear flap that was malignant. As a result, she had to have her ear flap removed to prevent it from spreading further into her body. The vet sent it off to make sure they had a clear margin and the lymph node was checked to make sure it had not spread. She will come with all the paperwork from this procedure and scan. Maggie doesn't even mind that ear flap being gone; it really just looks like her ear is flopped over and needs to be reset!
Our must haves for this sweet girl include:
- A fenced yard
- Someone home a lot to play fetch with her
- Another dog to keep her company if you can't be home
- No apartments or high rises
Maggie is a sweet girl and loves to snuggle on your lap, if you aren't playing fetch with her. She doesn't act or look 10 years old, so don't tell her she is! Please consider giving this girl the forever home she deserves!
