BIO: Hello! My name is Duffy Harry. I am a loveable fluff ball who is always looking for a friendly hug and some fun! Some of my favorite things to do are play ball, play with other dogs, kids, or adults. I am a real people person! I also love to watch T.V. I will sit and watch anything that has other dogs on it, and get excited and chase my tail!I am not much of a barker, but will warn you when I need to go outside to go potty. I get a little hyper when it's time for bed, but I am always relaxed when I go to my special comfy bed. I am very curious about cats, so my foster parents usually keep an eye on me when they let the cat out. I love treat time, and dinnertime; I will let you know by jumping up and lighting putting my nose on your bottom, it always makes people laugh!
Duffy Harry is such an adorable, loveable dog. He’s happiest when he's around other people, and will play with other dogs to no end. He also has his quiet moments where you'll just look at him and he'll be curled up on top of an ottoman, or by the fireplace looking like he is just the sweetest thing and you can't help but smile and love him even more then you thought was possible. Sometimes when you look at him he looks and has the same expression as “The Luck Dragon” in the Neverending Story. He gets along with everyone, but does need supervision with cats. I think any home would be great for him, small kids, teens, adults or elderly. He is a happy go lucky dog who can't wait to find his furever home!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Duffy...AZ
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
