BIO:  Alice came from Alabama when her owners had to move and could not take her with them.  She was lost and confused at first but has adjusted to our rescue and is now looking for her forever forever home.

Alice is a sweetie and loves lap time.  She needs to lose about 4 pounds to get down to the weight she should be.  So, if you are an active walker and looking for a walking buddy, Alice will fit the bill!  She loves to walk and is friendly to human strangers she meets but strange dogs on walks need to be introduced properly.  Alice will come with a fresh dental and a complete shot record and bloodwork.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
