BIO: Please meet Lexi! This beautiful senior girl is so sweet and just wants a lap to be in. Lexi ended up in a cold shelter all by herself at 10 years old. We are so glad the shelter knew about AADR. They contacted us and in we stepped for her rescue. Lexi has been in her foster home for about 4 weeks now and lots of changes have happened for her. She has received all her shots, had big dental surgery and had a small tumor removed. During her dental, Lexi lost a lot of teeth but she still does have some and they are so white and pretty.
Lexi loves to go on car rides, walks well on a leash, and will now roam the fenced yard. When it’s time for bed Lexi is ready for a treat and off to her crate she goes.
Lexi’s list includes:
Another dog or cat to cuddle with
A little patience with her house training
Someone to make her last years better for her
This little girl is so sweet, and does have some trouble seeing and a little trouble hearing. I know Lexi will find the right person/family just for her.
Please, if you are looking for a lap buddy please look at Lexi, she is your girl!!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
