BIO: Cinnamon came from a shelter in northern Alabama where she was picked up as a stray. Can you believe that someone would dump a puppy?? Well she was!
- No apartments
- Must have a fenced yard
- Another Dachshund who is 3 years or under for her to play with because she loves to play
- An adopter who must be home all the time or most of the time to finish house-training her
We can’t tell you how sweet this little girl is! She not only loves to play with younger dogs, she also loves to snuggle with you under the covers or in your lap. She’s just now learning to play with toys too but what she really likes to do is play with the other dogs that will play with her. Because she’s only 8 pounds and will probably top out at 11 pounds, we don’t want to adopt her to a family with big dogs because she may be hurt in play and we don’t want that to happen. We are going to be very picky where she goes because we don’t want her returned or in a shelter again for the rest of her life. So think this over very carefully before you fill out that application... if you are ready for a puppy in your life right now and for the next 15-17 years. She is a life-long commitment. She is nothing but sweetness and deserves the best!
============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
