Roscoe came from a small shelter in TN. He needs a fenced in yard that he can go out into he loves to play outdoors if the weather permits. He needs positive reinforcement to learn what is right and wrong. We've had no problems with him. he does have an issue with being confined. he jumps over the baby gate and out of a child's playyard that we have inside. He's an escape artist. we have a fenced in yard and doggie door. He hasn't gotten out of the backyard. He mostly will sit on the couch with you or sleep in a doggy bed w/ his cover. roscoe is sweet sweet beyond words and loves to do his own thing or follow you around the house. He will play a little with the other dogs but is more mellow that playful. If you are interested in Roscoe please fill out an app and put his name on the app as the one you'd like to adopt. He will reward you with years of devotion. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about ROSCOE
Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
