BIO: Cindy wants potential adopters to know this about her... “I’m the quietest little girl you’ll ever meet. I used to live with lots of other dogs and hardly got petted or had any human talk to me. I’m getting used to my foster mom’s voice and her touch - and I like it! I surprised her yesterday while she was at the dentist. I got out of the kitchen and was waiting on the couch for her when she came home! I just wanted to smell her scent and lay in the soft spot she has all broken in.”
Cindy's adopter must have:
- A fenced yard
- Another dog close in age and size
- A stay at home parent or one that’s home most of the time
- No young children
- Lots of patience
Cindy’s very cuddly and gives soft kisses when your hands smell or taste good. She’s only barked once in the 5 1/2 weeks she’s been with us - three soft, short little barks. That was to let us know she wanted to be with us and not alone in the kitchen. She has slept with us ever since.
Cindy is trained to potty on the pee pads in the house and hasn’t missed once. She can use a doggy door too. BUT, you must have a securely fenced area for her because she will hide if she can get away. She likes to hide behind bushes and trees and just about anything bigger than she is. She is very eager to please and very smart, and will need to learn how to signal you when she wants to go outside. You must be patient.
Loud noises and sudden movements frighten her. She doesn’t like to have people standing up near her, she prefers that they sit next to her on the floor or on a chair nearby.
Cindy would do best with at least one parent at home most of the time. She’s young and should be playful and active but is too frightened. She’ll need time. She’s been traumatized by her early life in East Tennessee with a hoarder.
She won’t do well with young children because they move quickly and are often loud (as they should be) and she would be very frightened.
Anyone that is lucky enough to adopt her must be very, very patient. She is going to learn in the two steps forward, one step backward manner. She doesn’t wag her tail every day, but when she does, it’s wonderful. It feels like winning the lottery! In fact, she wagged this morning when she first saw I was awake. It made my day!
