BIO (8/12/2019): Raven came into rescue from Tennessee as an owner surrender. Her owner had health issues and found themselves in a position where they could not give her all the care and attention that she needed. They reached out to us for help. Raven has only been at her foster home a very short time, but here is what we know about her:
Raven needs a fenced yard and another young dog to play with since she had other dogs in her prior home.
Any children in the household need to be 12 years or older and respectful of a small dog's space.
She has the sweetest personality... full of kisses and snuggles!
She is a bit nervous, will require strangers to go slow and give her time to warm up to them.
She sleeps all night in a crate and does not make a sound. She would certainly love to sleep in big bed too.
She walks on a leash like a little lady. Never tugs and walks at your side. Hardly know she’s even there.
She gets along great with other dogs. We do not know if she is cat friendly, but suspect she would be fine.
Raven is VERY photogenic. Look at that face and it tells you all you need to know about her. If you love her in pictures, you will LOVE her in person.
Please consider adding Raven to your family. She will not disappoint. Do not wait to submit an application! This little angel will not be available long.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
