BIO: Zuma came from FL with another dachshund when her owner realized she just didn’t have the time to give her the attention she needed, so AADR was contacted to find her a great home. Zuma is very sweet, happy and friendly with humans and other dogs.  What we know about Zuma:

  • Playful with other younger dogs
  • Friendly to humans
  • Energetic
  • MUST have a fenced yard attached to your home to run off that puppy energy
  • Toys need to be indestructible
  • MUST have another YOUNG dog to play with
  • Need to have someone home a lot to help with house training

It’s a must that she go to a home with another young dog so she’ll have someone to play with as much as she likes to play.  Because she is a special girl in our book we’ll be looking for a special home. If you fit this bill and are looking for a little girl, then apply because you won’t be the only one wanting her.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
