About TINA....KY

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
NAME........................................TINA DACHSHUND.........................PURE/MINI COAT........................................SMOOTH COLOR.....................................RED AGE...........................................18 MOS GENDER..................................FEMALE/SPAYED WEIGHT....................................8 LBS ADOPTION FEE...................... 250.00+10.00 chip fee contact Diane at nashcat50us@yahoo.com TINA came from the same shelter as TURNER did and TINA'S sister BELLA. TINA was very shy at first and scared. She couldn't understand why her mom and daddy left her and her sister at the shelter with all the racket and noise. Once she got to her foster home and got over being scared and realizing she was in a better place she started to become more relaxed and attached herself to the man of the house but is fine with foster mom too. She would be great with another dachshund to keep her company. She does love attention and a warm lap to sleep on. She uses the doggie door just fine and gets along with all the fosters here but don't know about cats but I would say she'd be fine with those too. Since she is so small we would say no children under 6 cause they could hurt her without mean too. She'd like to get to her new home before Christmas so she can hang her stocking for Santa Paws to fill it with lots of goodies!! Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

More about TINA....KY

Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
