Here is the second cutest thing you've ever seen. Tank, Allie's brother. They were dumped in a drop box at an area shelter in very bad shape and with the worst case of ringworm that the shelter manager has ever seen. Well that's all beind them now and they are ready for their new homes. Tank is the biggest and may top the scales at 20lbs when full grown. They are so sweet and friendly, tails wag all the time. Tank will be UTD on all shots and on Frontline and heartworm preventative. You will have to pay a refundable 50.00 neuter fee once you show proof that Tank is neutered. We do micro chip all of our dogs and they must stay in our name for a period of one year. If interested in adopting Tank please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application and be sure to put his name on it. We do require a home visit and out of state and Canadian adopters are welcome to apply to adopt any of our dogs.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
