DACHSHUND..........MINI/PURE COAT........................SMOOTH COLOR.....................RED AGE..........................2-3 YRS WEIGHT...................10 LBS adoption fee.............250.00+10.00 chip fee Contact Diane SHORTY HAS BEEN WAITING TO GO TO HIS FOREVER HOME NOW FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND HE JUST DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHY NO ONE WANTS TO ADOPT HIM. HE IS FINE AND HIS LEG HEALED WITH NO PROBLEMS SO PLEASE "ADOPT SHORTY" Shorty appears to be housebroken and loves just loves to be with his human family. He does not like to be crated but loves to sleep in the big bed with you and will follow you all over. He loves to have a fenced in yard to run and play. He gets along with other dogs, older kids would be better due to his leg being broken and don't know about cats but I'd say "no cats". He is UTD on all shots and on heartworm preventative and Frontline. If you'd be interested in Shorty plese fill out an online app and put his name on the app as the one your are interested in. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. If you'd like to see a picture of Shorty please e mail Diane for one. Thank you for your interest in a rescue.

More about SHORTY..TN

Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
