SAMPSON(SAM) & his brother CHAMP came from LA where they had to be given up by there family. This move has made the family very sad but they are doing what is best for the boys even at the cost of there heartbreak. We would like to see SAMPSON & CHAMP be adopted together but they can also be adopted out separately. SAM is here with me and is a big time cuddler. He loves to sleep in the big bed and will follow you EVERYWHERE. He walks great on a leash and travels very well and is fine in a crate when traveling or leaving for a while to run errands. He will give you kisses and wants to be in your lap 24/7 if you'd let him. This boy is a doll baby and deserves to find his forever home soon. He is UTD on all shots and heartworm tested negative. On Interceptor and frontline. He's had his teeth newly cleaned and he's got his bags packed and ready to go. He has the cutest face you've ever seen. And he's housebroken to boot!!
WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
