REESE was found abandoned at a dump site. They don't know how long he'd been there but he had severe Demadetic Mange but he's all done taking his meds for that(NOT contagious) and is growing his hair back and he said as much as he loves it here he wants a stocking hanging from a fireplace somewhere other than here, meaning his new forever home!!
This boy is sweet sweet and lust loves the other dogs, we don't know about cats and older kids would be fine. He loves to sleep in your lap or in the big bed. He really loves to watch sports on TV on Sunday afternoon but he can't tell you who's playing or what the score is but he'll be your buddy while you watch it. He does appear to be housetrained, loves to go outside so we feel a fenced in yard is a must. He also would do best with another dog, probably female as he loves to play with the ladies. He is UTD on all shots, heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline. If you are interested in this beautiful boy than please go online and fill out an online app and be sure to put his name on the app.
Out of state and Canidian adoptions are welcome, we have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible. A home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
More about REESE...FL
Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
