UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM.....IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT LOVE DOGS AND ARE KIND TO THEM THAN YOU NEED POLLY..SHE HAS BEEN WITH 10 CHILDREN ALL AT ONCE AND WAS WONDERFUL WITH ALL OF THEM. SHE ALLOWED THEM TO CARRY HER PET HER AND SHE PUT UP WITH IT ALL AND AT NO TIME DID SHE SNAP GROWL OR TRY TO GET AWAY, SHE LOVED IT ALL.....SHE STILL HAS A FEW ACCIDENTS BUT IS DOING MUCH BETTER IN THE POTTY TRAINING AREA.....
Polly came in with Mister Man and belonged to a breeder that dumped them at a shelter. Another rescue lady was called and she turned them over to me cause she knows I do dachshund rescue and here they are. Polly DOES NOT LIKE CATS!! She does however get along with other dogs, kids and loves to sleep in the big bed. She is working on house training very hard and loves to go outside. She walks very will on a leash. Polly also loves to cuddle with her human family and right now is getting along very well with her foster brother. This girl is a sweet sweet girl and deserves a chance at a happy home. Will you be that home??? If interested in Polly and want to know more about her just e mail her foster mom and she'll fill you in. If you decide you can't live with out Polly then please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an application and make sure you put her name on the application. Home visits are required and out of state and Canadian adoption are welcome.
More about POLLY...AL
Not Good with Cats
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
