Peaches is a 6-month-old red tweenie. She is spayed and up to date on her
vaccinations. Miss Peaches is a huge love bug...plenty of puppy kisses to go
around! She loves her little belly rubbed and her silky ears scratched. She
is a very active puppy and likes to play with my six yr old doxie and six
month old kitten. Peaches and my kitten can often be found wrestling in the
back yard. It is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen:)
While Peaches is still a very active puppy, she also likes to drape herself
over your lap while you watch TV or snuggle next to you while you read. She
likes to sleep in the big bed, but will also sleep in her crate quietly. She
sleeps thru the night. Peaches does not yet know how to signal that she
needs to go out. But as long as she is let out on a consistent basis, she
does not have any accidents. We are working on teaching her to sit at the
door when she needs out. I have a fenced yard and think she would do best if
her new home also had one. She just loves to run and play.
Peaches needs to gain some weight. She is very skinny. This is probably due
to the fact that she had worms when she came to rescue. She is currently on
medication to rid her of this problem.
Miss Peaches is truly a darling! She has adjusted well to her foster home
and will be missed when she finds her new forever home.
If you are interested in Miss Peaches please contact her foster mom:

Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost off to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
