NAME..................................DARLA Dachshund........................pure/tweenie Coat.....................................smooth Color...................................red age......................................6 yrs weight.................................16 lbs adoption fee......................150.00+10.00 chip fee contact braden01@bellsouth.net Adopted by her foster dad!! WE NEED TO FIND DARLA A FOREVER HOME SO WE ARE DROPPING HER ADOPTION FEE BUT YOU WILL STILL NEED TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND A HOME VISIT IS REQUIRED!! Darla came to us from a wonderful lady that saved her from a life of living outside with no shelter and very little food or water. Sadly Darla was heartworm positive but she has come thur treatment and is waiting to go to her new home. She is a very sweet girl but is jealous of other female dogs. We think she would be best with another male dog or the only doggie child. She went so long with out attention she is now trying to make up for it. You don't want to let this one go trust me. She loves men and women but seems to prefer men. Darla does not really like children so will need a home without small kids. Darle loves to sleep in the big bed and promises not to take up much room. She has been in foster care for a LONG time and is just looking for her own special place to call home. Please go to our web site www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application. Home visit are required and out of state adoption are welcome.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
