About CHIP...PA

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
NAME.............................CHIP DACHSHUND..............MINI/PURE COAT..............................SMOOTH COLOR..........................RED AGE................................1-2 YRS WEIGHT........................10BLS contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net adoption fee.................250.00+10.00 chip fee WE JUST FOUND OUT THAT CHIP HAS HEARTWORMS SO WILL BE GOING THRU TREATMENT AND WON'T BE READY TO GO TO A NEW FOREVER HOME UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF DEC....BUT HE'LL BE WORTH THE WAIT...TRUST ME!! CHIP is more on the shy side and he seems to prefer my husband over me. He will lay in his lap while he watches TV and sleep in his chair when hubby is not in it. CHIP came in with Alex but they do not have to go together. Chip being more shy I would say no children under 12, other dogs are fine and I think cats would be fine too. CHIP appears to be house broken at least to a doggie door. He loves to be out in the fenced in yard so we'd like him to have one as well at his forever home. CHIP is UTD on all his shots and on Frontline. If you are interested in making this little guy your new family member please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and please put his name on the application as the one you are interested in. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required.......thank you for your interest in a rescue.

Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
