About CAMILLE.....MO

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
DACHSHUND.......................STANDARD/MIX COAT......................................SMOOTH COLOR..................................RED AGE........................................2-3 YRS WEIGHT.................................15 LBS APPROX adoption fee.........................150.00 CAMILLE HAS TO WAIT A MONTH TO GO TO A NEW HOME WHILE SHE GOES THUR HEART WORM TREATMENT BUT THEN SHE'LL BE GOOD AS NEW AND READY FOR THAT NEW FOREVER HOME THAT YOU WANT TO GIVE HER. Camille came from a shelter in southern AL where she was turned in as a stray. We believe her to be mostly Dachshund but she is mixed with something but we aren't sure what. She is very sweet, loves to play with the other dogs and gets along well wit h the males but not alpha females. Don't know about cats and kids older would be fine. She loves to be outside and is housebroken to a doggie door. She is not shy around strangers and not a barker. She does like to sleep in the big bed but will also sleep in a doggie bed. She is UTD on all shots, spayed heartworm free and on Interceptor and frontline. If you are interested in her please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application. Our adoption fees are there as well. Thank you for your interest in a rescue and out of state adoption are welcome and home visit is required.

Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
