Angel came from a shelter in middle AL and was a stray. We didn't know she was pregnant cause she was so scared and wouldn't let anyone near her. One week after I had her she gave birth to two puppies. One didn't make it but the other one is health and fat. For that reason she will not be ready to go to her new home until she is done caring for her baby and is spayed. She is heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline. She will be UTD on shots before going to her new home and when she gets spayed. She is housebroken and will go to the door and scratch to get out. Very very sweet now that she's had her baby and knows that you will not hurt her. When going to a new home she may be afraid but once she know you won't hurt her she turns into the most loving dog. She loves to be on your lap and never gets enough of you cuddling her and telling her she's a "good girl" or "pretty girl". Don't wait on this little girl get your app in early cause as soon as she's ready to go she'll be gone.
Her baby right now is a male and we don't know if he's full or not but I will list him on Petfinder and our web site www.ssdr.org as soon as he is old enough.
Go to our web site and fill out an online app and remember home visit is requied and out of state adoptions are welcome. I think this little girl would be fine with old children 10+ but nothing younger.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
