I simply dont understand why I had to leave my last home.  Im very loveable, easy to take care of, I have beautiful red hair that enjoys being brushed.  I will play fetch with you as long as I can keep you interested.  Walking is a blast, im so proud to show my people off to the neighborhood.  I even like the two other dogs that I live with in my foster home.  Best of all, I only eat a small amount of food and will come to you with squeeky clean teeth and breath and all of my shots are up to date (ouch) oh ya, I have been nutered too,(BIG OUCH). I will have to adjust to your new smells and schedule but after a oops or two Ill get the hang of it.  I will keep your home guarded and notify you when a stranger is near.  I can be the BEST pal you could ever want , if you will please give me a final forever home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
