BIO (5/12/2019):  This is sweet, adorable little Dant’e.  He is a bundle of love!  He is looking for his forever family and will be a great addition to someone’s home.  He must have a brother or sister to play with as he loves to play.  Dant’e gets along great with his foster brothers and sister.  He loves little balls that are his size.  Sweet and bashful, he will need some time to warm up to you.  He has a great personality, is a very happy dog, and can be quite goofy!

Dant’e is very smart and learned the doggy door right away.  He is good at going potty outside, but sometimes likes to poo in the house.  So he will need someone who will help him with that (although, he might get it before he is adopted).  Dant’e came from a family in North Carolina that split up and could not keep him.

We actually have not heard him bark yet.  So, if you are looking for a dog for protection, that won’t work.  But, if you are looking for a quiet dog that does not care who walks by your house, Dant’e is the dog for you.

If you are a family that has a great love for dachshunds and can spoil a little boy, Dant’e is a great choice!

More about Dant'e in WI

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
