BIO (4/19/2019): Sasha, a cute Dachshund mix, came from South Carolina where she was a stray. She is very affectionate and she wants lots of attention. She loves people and she gets along well with small dogs. She is a good dog, well socialized, housebroken and leash trained. She likes to sleep in her dog bed in her crate with the crate door open. A fenced yard is important for her. Sasha is almost finished with her Heartworm treatment and she is ready to move on to her forever home. Can you provide her the love and attention she needs and deserves?

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
