BIO (11/20/2018): Meet Cricket .... isn’t she ADORABLE?!? Her name could be Cutie-pie, ‘cause she sure is CUTE! She has the longest nose and silkiest ears you’ve ever seen .... and GORGEOUS markings, too! This little girl was surrendered by a breeder in AL and then traveled to TN to be fully vetted by AADR and then traveled 15 hours south to FL to her foster home. She is so happy to finally unpack her suitcase and doesn’t want any more long transports ... been there, done that! For that reason, we are looking for a FL family to adopt Cricket. Plus, we know there are lots of AWESOME families in FL that love doxies!
Since Cricket’s “job” in the past was to produce beautiful babies, she has not had much socialization. Cricket is definitely going to need a fenced yard. She had no idea how to walk on a leash, but is doing better now that she can follow the example of her foster siblings. Cricket has lots of energy and also that stubborn doxie nature that doxie savvy families recognize! LOL
Cricket does love attention. All the drivers on her transport immediately fell in love with her, which is very understandable since she is happy to cuddle and give kisses! Cricket has not been around children. She has always been around other dogs so we’d like her forever home to have another dog for Cricket to emulate. She appears to be a quick learner when she sees how another dog behaves. Her transition from “mom” to “pet” will be much faster if you have another dog.
Cricket sleeps in a dog bed beside the Big Bed. She would love to sleep beside you if you like that... she sure would!
Any questions? Please fill out an adoption application and then contact her foster mom, meg1709@comcast.net.
